“There is little more gratifying to me than using light to create images that will amaze my friends, family and clients; pieces of art they'll love forever. Telling stories, reviving memories, bringing joy—that is what I want my images to do. As a newlywed, I can say that there is nothing more amazing than to cuddle up with my spouse and let beautiful images take us back to the most awesome day of our lives.”

Jonathan is an international wedding and portrait photographer with shooting experience in over 20 countries. He and his wife live in Michigan and commonly photograph weddings in Detroit, Ann Arbor, Brazil, and India creating vibrant and emotion filled images of couples celebrating love.

Jonathan’s interest in photography began in his childhood, with the influence of his Aunt Helen and developed under the mentorship of National Geographic's talented Anthony Boccaccio.

Jade & Rapha | Pre-wedding session

Every once in a while I get the privilege of working with a couple that just lets loose in front of the camera, so is the case with Jade & Rapha.  De vez em quando tenho o privilegio de trabalhar com um casal que realmente se solta em frente de minha lente, o caso da Jade & Rapha.

How gorgeous are these photos and what a fantastic job capturing the emotions! You can really FEEL your photos, not just see them.

Leia | Belem, Brazil

I loved last week’s photo shoot of my friend Leia!  It was the last session in Brazil before coming back to cold Michigan.  (Amei esse ensaio com minha amiga Leia! Esse foi o ultimo ensaio que fiz no Brasil antes de voltar para o friozinho de Michigan. Ate Junho, Brasil!)

Hiroshi Okajima’s Mahogany | Para, Brazil

The pictures below are of the world’s largest re-florestation of Mahogany trees.  Twenty years ago Mr. Hiroshi Okajima, against all odds and counsel, planted over 22,000 Mahogany trees in Paragominas, Brazil.  No one has ever done so successfully, but today the beautiful forest stands to testify of what a bold  and visionary man can accomplish.  Mr. Okajima is 70 years old and still a passionate advocate for the re-florestation of Mahogany across Brazil.
